Nice, France: your perfect long weekend
Nice is a wonderful choice for a long weekend or a shorter holiday. This month, we have been sharing some great itinerary ideas for a shorter trip to some of our favorite cities. We are finishing up with this special spot on the French riviera.
One of the things that makes Nice so special is it’s size. It’s small enough that you can explore it easily but large enough that you won’t get bored. It’s a perfect addition to your French vacation plans!
Your vacation is up to you since all of our trips are tailor made. This means that if your dream holiday is a longer trip, we can add a few days then explore even more. A few days in Provence? A quick trip after to Paris? A flight to Rome? The options are endless!
Day 1: Welcome to Nice
On your arrival day, our private driver will meet you upon arrival at the train station or even airport (depending on where you are coming from) and bring you to your accommodations in this enchanting city.
We have a comprehensive portfolio of accommodations in Nice. It’s a city we know well and love to visit, so these are hotels and bed and breakfasts that we personally stay in when we are in the city. With its mix of a real port city, Mediterranean sunshine, seaside charm and a bustling old town, it’s a destination you will love – when seen the right way!
In the early evening, you will head to the harbor to meet your “ride” – a beautiful sailboat for our sunset sailboat ride!
If there is enough wind to put sails up, we will go south to the open sea in the direction of the famous “sanctuaire pélagos” hoping to see the dolphins and enjoying the silence without motor noise! If not windy, we will use the motor to sail the coast seeing Menton, Cap Martin Roquebrune , Eze and Monaco from the water. We will stop and have an aperitif, a drink and a snack, before returning to the city for dinner.
Day 2: Explore the city through its gastronomy

You’ll explore the narrow maze of centuries-old streets that is the Vieux Nice. It opens up to a splendid space lined with cafés and fish restaurants and market stalls down the center. You will select the the best meat and fish for your choice of menus. No matter what the main ingredient of your meal, the wine and selection of cheeses will not be forgotten!
Make our way to our newly created cooking studio, where you play a role in preparing the meal. No need to worry if you are a beginning cook, the atmosphere is relaxed! A couple of hours later, sit down to an authentic Niçoise meal. Toast your efforts with a glass of rosé or the beverage of your choice!
Day 3: A taste of the Riviera
Today you’ll explore the riviera in a Private French Riviera Highlights Tour – the choice is yours!
Your private driver/guide will pick you up in the morning and take you on a full-day adventure to discover the famous and hidden treasures of the Cote d’Azur. Our first recommended stop would the picturesque village of Eze, one of our personal favorites. After you will head to another country entirely, the upscale seaside Monaco and the elegant Monte Carlo.
If you’d prefer, we can instead head to one of the oldest medieval towns on the Riviera, Saint-Paul de Vence. We can explore the grand old villas and old town of Antibes and the ritzy Cannes. The day is up to you, and your expert, local guide will tailor the day to your interests!
Day 4: Au Revior, Nice
Depending on your departure time from this unforgettable city, we can arrange a wine tasting in our favorite local shop, a tour of local artisans and their stores, or a tasting of local olive oils. Or, even a morning at our favorite beach club on the sea? It’s up to you!
Your private driver will arrive right at your hotel to bring you to the airport for wherever your trip takes you.
