Our favorite beach restaurants: France and Spain
Eating by the beach is one of summer’s great pleasures! Fortunately in the Mediterranean we have many choices for great places to dine with a view. As summer is in full swing here, we are sharing some of our favorite choices for eating by the beach in each of the countries we visit. These are great spots where you can have a meal while enjoying some spectacular scenery. The Mediterranean is incredible in the summer!

Anjuna Bay, Eze Beach, France
This beach front restaurant boasts an amazing position and ambience. Located on the beach, its a great stop for their spectacular lobster spaghetti before heading up to the hilltop village of Eze. It can be very lively, the beach bar sometimes has music and dancing throughout the day. We love the basket of fresh bread, marinaded olives, and sweet grape tomatoes that you munch on while you wait for your mains!
Le Club 55, St. Tropez, France
An institution on the world famous beach of St. Tropez, Le Club 55 is a cannot miss stop. There are many places along this stretch of sand, but for over half a century Le Club 55 has been the top spot. A personal favorite of Megan’s, this beach club is the perfect spot for a meal and a great day on the French Riviera.
La Co(o)rniche, Bordeaux Riviera, France
This is a very chic hotel on the Bordeaux Riviera. The restaurant is excellent and open for lunch and dinner with local seafood and a wonderful view. Look out for when they do special seasonal dinners right on the dunes.
La Pinede, Cala Rossa, Corsica, France
This special hotel has an intimate but luxurious feeling. The michelin rated restaurant is a wonderful spot for a meal. They offer an elegant bistro for lunch and dinner. It’s a great choice for relaxed lunchtime meals by the beach and delicious dinners in the evening on the terrace under the pine trees.
Can Majó, Barcelona, Spain
Can Majó is an institution in the fishing neighborhood of the city. Family run, now the adult children have taken over the 60 year old restaurant of their parents. An intimate space open to the sea, you can enjoy seafood and local food with products right from the market.
Cal Pinxo Platja, Barcelona, Spain
Cal Pinxo Platja is restaurant that serves Mediterranean seafood specializing in rice and paella.
It’s located on the beach of La Barceloneta and has a large terrace facing the beach and the Mediterranean Sea. Another great choice for lunch or dinner!
El Chiringuito Es Cavallet, Ibiza, Spain
Without a doubt one of the island’s most famous restaurants, there is a good reason. By day, classic, fresh beach fare under the sun but in the evening it turns into a candlelit, romantic stop on the beach. Specialities from the wood fire grill are also spectacular.
Es Fum, Mallorca, Spain
Located in one of Mallorca’s most desired locations, this great spot has a Michelin star and is the perfect spot for a special meal. The seating in the outdoor terrace overlooks the sea and the lush gardens, and it’s a wonderful way to experience seasonal, fresh island fare.
